Moowon
“The World is full of hidden gems in the forms of people, places, and creations.”
Based on this tenet, Mona Kim Projects launched MOOWON, an artfully curated online collection of stories and online store.
The MOOWON project was born out of a desire to capture and transmit what is beautiful and noble in our world, and to present a unique worldview in a visceral manner.
Recounting human values is at the heart of this project. With high-end photography and documentary films, its stories come from an eclectic group of international contributors that includes anthropologists, photographers, journalists, field experts and travelers. Through the filters of “vanishing”, “hidden”, or “singular”, it takes a transversal approach to ideas such as artisanship, creation, culture, practice, places and people.
It connects her 25+ years of savoir-faire in curating, meaningful storytelling (museums and cultural events), and powerful image-making (fashion and advertising), with her passion for travel.
Within 2 months of its launch, MOOWON was featured in WWD (Women’s Wear Daily) and its stories republished in trend visionnaire Lidewij Edelkoort’s TrendTablet.
Within the same year, the first MOOWON BOOK OF STORIES was published and distributed globally, as a result of its successful Kickstarter campaign.
